6 May - Adrian Lourie, Publisher, MEAT
BOYS! BOYS! BOYS! MEETS ... Adrian Lourie
Adrian Lourie is a Margate and London-based photographer. In 2010, he founded meat, a passion project based out of London that would become a cult gay pinup magazine with a global audience. Celebrating men, masculinity, and modern desire, the meat project explores body positivity among queer men, sensuality, and gay culture, challenging conventional standards of beauty within the LGBTQ+ community. Over 15 years, meat has grown into 76 self-published issues and three books. His unretouched portraits are known for their warmth, honesty, and quietly charged intimacy. Images that feel lived-in rather than staged. Born from the same DIY spirit, the meat party is one of London’s longest-running queer shindigs, celebrated for its electric atmosphere, top-tier DJs, and famously hot crowd. The night has held residencies at Vogue Fabrics (VFD), The Royal Vauxhall Tavern, The Glory, and Dalston Superstore, where it has been in residence for the past 12 years.
